We then read Otto Goes to the Beach and talk about RunDisney kids’ races and Peter Pan. Then in the second segment Captain Owen sings the Winnie the Pooh song and the Tigger Song before we all do the OK to Wake Owl wake-up dance.

This week we play with Captain Owen’s Star Wars Galactic Heroes Millenium Falcon and Darth Vader that he got from his Grandma Janice on Force Friday! These Galactic Heroes toys are pretty great, and they did a real nice job of capturing that old school playset that’s also a carrying case feel. I see many more Galactic Heroes playsets and figures in our future.

First off, I want to apologize for the past two weeks–I had PAX Prime and then DragonCon, so I wasn’t able to get an episode finished in time. I don’t have anymore big trips planned in the near future so we should be back on track.

Skip Week

Episode 013 – Happy Birthday Daddy

Lucky number 13! Today is my birthday so we start off with Owen singing happy birthday to me and talking about his dreams of purple scooters (he has this Züm blue and purple balance bike/scooter.) We talk about going to Mighty-O for donuts and coffee and walking around Green Lake. Then we sneak upstairs a la Mission Impossible to wake up mommy. Then we play Endless Numbers on mommy’s phone. Later in the day we watched the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailers and get Captain Owen’s reaction to them. Finally we close out with his rendition of Row Row Row Your Boat.

Episode 012 – Disneyland

The Disneyland episode! We recently took a trip to Disneyland, and Owen and I sat down to discuss the big day. We talk about Pirates of the Caribbean and what type of pirate he wants to be when he grows up, Peter Pan, Belle, The Little Mermaid ride, It’s a Small World, Peter Pan’s Flight (my favorite ride) being closed for upgrades – there was a cast preview and apparently the upgrades are fantastic. Then we talk about the Bug’s World bumper cars that he can finally go on since he hit 36″, Astro Orbiter, and the Disneyland Railroad and the dinosaurs. For a little extra treat, after the chat, you can hear snippets of us actually riding Astro Orbiter and King Triton’s Carousel.

Episode 011 – Story Cubes

Sorry for the short episode this week! There’s a lot of crazy stuff going on – hopefully good stuff I can share in the near future. In this episode we start off playing with Owen’s Uncle Goose Alphabet Blocks. He’s at the point now where he is being very creative with them–throw a couple blocks together and its a pirate ship or giraffe. We then played with our Rory’s Story Cubes MAX. We don’t have any of the other sets, just the MAX set which has over-sized story dice. They are a ton of fun!
